About Wayne Wayne M. Levine, M.A. is the founder and director of the West Coast Men's Center in Agoura Hills, CA, where he coaches and mentors men, and facilitates men's groups. He also created the BetterMen® Retreats for men, and for fathers and sons.
Wayne's interest in men's issues began in the early ‘90s with his participation in men's work activities. His experiences with men's groups, as a participant, leader and program developer, taught Wayne to “father” men and to support them in making difficult and important changes in their lives.
He earned his Master's in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University / Los Angeles. Wayne also received his BA in journalism and graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Southern California.

I was a boy until I was 33. I had no idea what it meant to be a man. I was just my mother’s baby son. Then I was introduced to the men who initiated me into manhood. Since then, it has become my passion to learn from and to teach other men. I worked with men’s groups and with men individually as a volunteer until I decided to make this higher purpose work my career. I decided to become a mentor. Making this career change at age 39 wasn’t easy. But it was the best decision I ever made, well, the best one since marrying my incredibly supportive wife of over 20 years.
I received my Masters in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University. But my most important credentials, the ones that make me qualified to be a mentor and coach, don’t come with initials for a business card. They’re the stripes one gets from being a dedicated father of two, a risk-taking entrepreneur, a man who’s learned to ask for help from other men, a boy who lost his father at age nine, and a man who is committed to doing his own work to get closer to being the best man he can be. These life experiences are what have prepared me to mentor men and to help men make difficult and exciting changes in their own lives.
It’s a blessing and an honor to do this work. And it’s fantastic to see men change right before their eyes! -Wayne
